What would be the point of us providing our wonderful woollen throws and clothing on the outside, if we neglected the needs of the inner man and woman?
So, our coffee is always hot, the cakes scrummy, wine is available, and happiness abounds!
Our licensed Coffee shop at Cotswold Woollen Weavers is open for morning coffee, lunchtime snacks, and afternoon tea. So, there are always homemade cakes, a selection of sweet and savoury scones, and ice cream, depending upon the time of year. As well, of course, as coffee tea, local soft drinks, and a selection of wines.
There are papers and magazines, and picnic blankets if you wish to laze away a warm afternoon in the orchard.
David’s Shortbread
David Pitcher, our resident sorcerer with the saucepan, loves to bake. Here is his recipe for his shortbread we serve in the coffeeshop.
8 oz Butter
4 oz Castor sugar
10 oz Plain flour
2 oz Cornflour
Combine the butter and sugar until light and creamy, add the flour and cornflour and mix.
Lightly roll out and cut into the desired shapes.
Bake at 190/200 C for about 20 minutes. Take out and sprinkle with caster sugar.
